Toscana Divino

There’s nothing more exciting than finding a fabulous new brunch spot for those lazy weekend afternoons. Toscana Divino, located at 900 South Miami Avenue in the Mary Brickell Village is the epitome of an Italian boyfriend you just can’t stay away from. Open for just over a year and a half now, it is a great place to get some of that Tuscan sun on while sipping on Bottomless Mimosas on either Saturdays or Sundays.

Toscana Divino features the Tuscan lifestyle with a more cosmopolitan flair. The first thing you notice upon walking in, is the large wine cellar right behind the bar, housing an impressive collection of Tuscan wines.  The walls are lined with artwork showcasing Italian artists, and each table is accentuated by a single, colorful sunflower. If you’re a fan of everything Italiano, as I am, then you’ll be happy to know you can take more home than just some of their delicious cuisine, but also a wide variety of Tuscan products like homemade glassware, porcelain table settings and luxury handbags.

But let’s get back to the food. Toscana Divino’s brunch menu offers a varied selection of dishes that are not only exquisitely prepared but also beautifully presented. Chef de cuisine, Julian Baker, uses local ingredients along with Tuscan-sourced foods, to create contemporary versions of traditional dishes. The concept is to allow guests to experience here in Miami what we can expect to taste in Italy right now.

The Eggs Florentine, for example, is creatively prepared with a combination of ingredients that tantalize every tastebud. Organic poached eggs sit on a bed of Salame Finocchiona and Tuscan Kale, all on a Tuscan crostini; while a Bearnaise sauce takes the sensation to new heights.

The Zucchine e Pomodoro Omelet is just as spellbinding. Served in an iron skillet, the seasoned grilled zucchini is the perfect complement to the egg frittata, tomato confit,  burrata cheese and organic greens. I loved both the colorful presentation and the medley of flavors that balanced each other.

As you can see, Brickell’s weekend mornings just got even more exciting.  Remember ladies, the strategy is simple. Choose one of their unforgettable Tuscan wines, sip it while savoring the mind-blowing cuisine, and once the soothing and relaxing effect takes over, walk your man over to the amazing handbags and choose one, maybe two. The perfect ending to a remarkable meal.
