Swire Properties, the company responsible for the $1 billion development of Brickell CitiCentre has just completed agreements with local officials to redesign and enhance the Eighth Street Metromover station as part of its $1.05 billion Brickell CitiCentre mixed-use development. The project is expected to be underway within this year.
The Metromover improvements will include two overhead pedestrian crossings spanning South Miami Avenue and Southeast Seventh Street. The Metromover station, which will be located within the project, will be given an improved landscaping under the line between southeast Sixth and Eighth Streets.
“We appreciate the opportunity to work with Miami-Dade County on incorporating the Metromover station into the project so we may achieve our goal of creating a sophisticated urban center for Brickell,” said Stephen Owens, president of Swire Properties.
