Among the shows in this version of the BAW, there are to collectives one by the Cuban Art Project in Dolores Lolitas with “Antonio Guerrero – Rafael Lopez Ramos – Guillermo Portieles”; with an approach to a magic surrealism and simplistic image-making their work negotiates a balance between the spiritual and physical worlds. Drawing inspiration from local South-Floridian concepts and other cultural and spiritual traditions of their native Cuba, Curated by the Cuban Art Project and Pablo Gehr their objective believes that the best life is in equilibrium. If one can achieve balance, one can achieve peace. Their paintings are physical representations of his ideal way of life.
The second collective “A tribute to the beuty of motherhood and life Brickellwomb” Presented by the BAW at Perricones, it’s a collaboration among great local artists, Barbara De Varona, who currently calls Wynwood home with her studio adjacent to the Eleazar Delgado Studio, brings her egg-figure bringing feelings that can be easily interpreted but causing a deep sublime impact; Antonio Fortuna, brings his figure with works about pregnancy using his exquisite color and concept, the collaboration of De Varona and Fortuna combined with the body painting of Eva Marcela Avila who will paint a pregnant live model, showing the beauty of motherhood, leaving a part of the torso for De Varona and Fortuna to contribute.
