Established in 1958 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Immaculata-La Salle High School is a private, co-educational school run by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. During 2009 – 2010, its tuition fee was $8,100. This school’s mission is to provide a learning environment that allows students to take responsibility and have a life-long commitment to service, faith, education, and leadership in order to make a positive difference in this world. This seems to have rubbed off on some of the students, with two Miami Mayors, a Chairman of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Third Commander of the Texas State Guard Medical Brigade, an Orthopedic Surgeon in Northwest Louisiana whom introduced the region to anterior hip replacement and to hip resurfacing, and more amongst many others who have made a contribution to not only Miami but the USA as well.
